This week, I've attempted to knit socks for the first time. This was almost my first time using double pointed needles. Using DPNs is certainly awkward as the needles would clink against each other but I can definitely see the benefits of using these instead of a circular needle. Main advantage being DPNs can hold smaller stitches in comparison to a circular needle - after a certain point, circular needles strain and tighten if there are too few stitches. For this project, I'm using size 6 Clover Bamboo DPNs along with Sugar 'N Cream yarn.
As you can probably see, my ribbing is a little uneven - difficulties from using DPNs for the first time. Something that will get better over time. Here I had just finished the leg part of the sock and started work on the heel. Working the heel had always intimidated me but after knitting an Alpaca, socks became less scary.
Almost done with one sock, one more to go. Here's to hoping that the ribbing on the next sock is better!
